Before You Register
Is the website secure?
Absolutely!
I am new to NSL and I want to play, how do I find more information about upcoming leagues? (For example: Coed Flag Football, Winter season)
From the NSL home page, select "Play" to view "Upcoming Leagues." Leagues are listed under their respective sport. Click the yellow links to dial into more detailed information about each league.
What is the minimum number of players I need to start a team?
Each sport has a different minimum roster requirement, the answer can be found in the 'Format' section of that league page or league rules.
What is the cost per team?
Follow the same path as described above, the answer can be found in the 'Cost' section of that league page.
What is the minimum age requirement?
Players must 21 or older to participate in NSL.
What is the deadline for registration?
The latest we will accept a team registration is 4 business days prior to the start of a league, or until that league fills up. If you're interested in participating, it is strongly recommended that you register sooner rather than later because many of our leagues sell out long before the beginning of the season.
Do I have to have a team to register?
NO! Individuals and small groups are encouraged to register, especially if they don't know anybody and/or don't have enough players for a full team. Every season, we create "Free Agent" teams comprised of individual registrants for the league. We build the rosters and send that information to every free agent so individuals can contact each other prior to the start of the season.
Can I be placed on a team with my friend(s) or coworker(s)?
Yes! When you register as an individual, if you place the names of your friend(s) and/or coworker(s) in the comments section, we can place you on the same team.
What is the refund policy?
The only acceptable form of requesting to be withdrawn from a league is to email NSL.
- Teams
There are NO refunds during the 5 business days prior to the scheduled start of a league. Teams can withdraw with a $150 administration fee prior to 5 business days before the scheduled start of a league. - Indivdiuals
There are NO refunds during the 5 business days prior to the scheduled start of a league. Individuals can withdraw with a $30 administration fee prior to 5 business days before the scheduled start of a league.

Fees
What is the difference between the team fee and individual fee?
- Team Fee
Covers the maximum number of players on a team, depending on which sport. You are not required to pay individual fees on top of the team fee. For example, Coed Flag Football is $550/team, NOT $550/team + $70/individual. - Individual Fees
Each sport and division has individual registrants. These registrants are charged a per person fee, based upon sport and division. Individual fees include a t-shirt and equipment (when applicable).
What are the different payment options?
Payment Option 1: "Pay in Full NOW" will charge a credit card for the full team fee upon registration.
Payment Option 2: Pay Deposit ($150) up registration, and balance due prior to start of league
Payment Option 3: Teammates will each be paying their portion of the team fee separately through the website.
Are there any additional fee associated with payments?
The New NSL Website contains licensed software which entails a $3.95 transaction fee for every payment made through the NSL website.

During The Season
What is an NSL Blue Card?
View our Blue Card page for more information on our Blue Card Program.
What happens when there is inclement weather?
Leagues may be canceled due to weather conditions, dangerous or unplayable field conditions, facility constraints, etc. NSL staff makes every effort to play all scheduled games, thus we will not cancel games until absolutely necessary. Therefore, if you are calling/emailing concerning a decision on a cancelation, remember we will not have an answer until close to the start of the league, at the latest 4PM on the day of scheduled games in question.
All cancelations will be posted to two (2) outlets: NSL Facebook Page & NSL Twitter. NSL will NOT notify captains via email or phone of this cancelation. It is the captain's responsibility to inform all teammates of any cancelations. If inclement weather develops during league play, NSL staff will attempt to contact those remaining teams scheduled to play that day/night. Depending on the time of cancellation, some teams will have to be notified on site.
When games are canceled, follow next week's schedule (ex. If April 13 is cancelled teams should follow the April 20 schedule for their next game). The games that were canceled will be made up towards the end of the season if time allows. NSL reserves the right to run a shortened season without a refund. NSL also reserves the right to schedule games on days other than your regularly scheduled league day/night if necessary.
My team is going to have to forfeit, what do I need to do?
Notifications of forfeits must be sent by EMAIL ONLY to the NSL office at least 2 hours prior to the start of league play for the day. This means, if the first games of the evening begin at 6PM, notifications must be received via email by 4PM. This allows us time to notify the opponent of the forfeiture so they don't go to the park. A win and points will be awarded to the team not at fault, and any team with a forfeit will automatically drop to the bottom of any tie breaking situation in league standings.
If notifications are not received, the team captain will be invoiced for $30* and the opposing team will be rewarded with a gift certificate to the sponsor bar for that season (this does not apply to individual based teams).
*Teams are required to complete the $30 payment before they are eligible to play the following week.

League Playoffs
When will the league playoffs begin?
Typically, league playoffs will begin the week following the final regular season games and will be played on the same day as the regular season. In the case of 2 or more rainouts during the season, NSL reserves the right to host games on days other than a normal day of play.
How do the standings determine the seeding?
Teams are seeded according to forfeits, winning percentage, head to head competition, point differential, points against and points for. Any team with a recorded forfeit will automatically fall to the bottom of any tie breaker situation.
